SINGAPORE – On November 10, 2011 Munich Automobiles, the world‟s first exclusive BMW M dealership, celebrated its First Anniversary in style with over 500 exclusively invited BMW M customers and enthusiasts at Zouk, one of Singapore‟s trendiest nightclubs.

As the Official Supercar sponsor of the most renowned international model search contest, Elite Model Look 2011, Munich Automobiles co-hosted a fashion show in collaboration with 12 of their most coveted models for the Le Bleu collection.

The event also served as the official launch of Singapore‟s first BMW M Club, led by motorsport enthusiast Rohit Ambekar. Munich Automobiles further commemorated the launch by welcoming the 150th member of the M Club with the delivery of a 1 Series M Coupé.

Special guests present at the event included representatives from BMW Group Asia, Official Media Partner „The Peak‟ and Official Card Sponsor „VISA Infinite‟.

BMW M3 CRT INTELLIGENT LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN WITH THE CARBON RACING TECHNOLOGY FOR EVEN HIGHER PERFORMANCE.

3 limited units coming soon to Singapore.

Singapore. BMW Asia today announced the impending arrival of the BMW M3 CRT (Carbon Racing Technology) in Singapore. With only 3 units made available to Singapore, the BMW M3 CRT will be retailing at Munich Automobiles, the dedicated BMW M dealer in Singapore, with the first customer delivery slated for December 2011.

Mr. Neil Fiorentinos, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia said: “We are very pleased to announce the arrival of the limited edition BMW M3 CRT. With only 67 units produced worldwide, 3 units have been allocated to our Singapore customers thereby reinforcing the importance of this market. The high performance BMW M3 CRT is bred for the race track but registered for the road. It embodies a concentrated blend of state-of-the-art development expertise that is inspired by motorsport, especially in the areas of its drive system and chassis technology and lightweight design.”

With the usage of Carbon-Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP), the BMW M3 CRT is able to achieve an impressive weight-to-ratio of 3.5 kilograms per horsepower. Complete with a 4.4-litre V8 engine, the high-revving sports car wields a maximum output of 450hp and is able to complete the century sprint in just 4.4 seconds.

“The BMW M3 CRT also marks the innovative usage of CFRP. In particular, the construction of its bonnet with the lightweight material not only imbues it with the strength of a conventional steel equivalent but reduces its weight significantly. And the weight-saving over the alumimium bonnet of the standard BMW M3 Saloon can be as much as 50 percent,” added Mr Fiorentinos.

SOUTHEAST ASIA PREMIERE OF JEFF KOONS’ BMW ART CAR IN SINGAPORE.

Singapore - The 17th BMW Art Car today makes its Southeast Asian debut in Singapore and will be showcased at the Munich Automobiles Showroom and Service Centre, the world’s first dedicated BMW M dealer. Based on the BMW M3 GT2, the 17th BMW Art Car is created by world renowned pop artist Jeff Koons.

In conjuncture with the display of the BMW Art Car, BMW Asia will be organising a private charity auction with the National University Health System at the showroom on July 13.

Inspired by the Jeff Koons’ BMW Art Car, a unique artwork titled “Velocity” has been created by :phunk - a contemporary art and design collective based in Singapore, and will be the principle auction item along with other collectables and BMW memorabilia. All proceeds collected at the auction will be donated to the NUH Patientcare National Charity Fund to raise funds and provide financial assistance for underprivileged patients.

The Design Process
As part of his creative process, Jeff Koons collected images of race cars, related graphics, vibrant colors, speed and explosions. The resulting artwork of bright colors conceived by Koons is evocative of power, motion and bursting energy. Its silver interior along with the powerful exterior design, the Art Car will impart a dynamic appearance even when it’s standing still.

“These race cars are like life, they are powerful and there is a lot of energy,” said Jeff Koons. “You can participate with it, add to it and let yourself transcend with its energy. There is a lot of power under that hood and I want to let my ideas transcend with the car – it’s really to connect with that power”

FOLLOWING THE PERFECT LINE: THE BMW CONCEPT M5.

For 25 years now, the fascinating combination of supreme driving comfort experienced in a premium upper midrange sedan and the handling characteristics of a high-performance sports car has been described by one single unmistakable model designation - BMW M5. In 1984, with the first generation of this model, the BMW M GmbH laid the foundation stone for a completely new vehicle category. The BMW M5 was the first car of its kind to offer racing-oriented high performance in a sedan that could be driven without restrictions in everyday road traffic. This unique concept developed into a remarkable success story spanning four model generations.

The BMW M GmbH is now drawing the attention of racing car enthusiasts to a four-seater yet again. The BMW Concept M5, which made its public debut at the Auto Shanghai 2011, presents itself as the latest reinterpretation of this unmistakable vehicle character.

Superior sportiness and typical M aesthetics in a BMW 5 Series Sedan format provide the basis for the exclusive BMW M5 driving experience. With each model generation, the advancements made in the development of premium sedans in terms of comfort, safety and premium ambience were accompanied by new possibilities to intensify that unsurpassed ‘M feeling’. The world premiere of the BMW Concept M5 at the Auto Shanghai 2011 gives clear signals for the continuation of this tradition. Based on the design vocabulary developed for the BMW 5 Series Sedan, the near-series concept car reflects the characteristic styling features of a BMW M automobile, with which the car’s further enhanced dynamic potential is authentically visualised.

A new high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo Technology guarantees typical M power output. The eight-cylinder power unit delivers a spontaneous and even acceleration, which remains constant up to the highest load and is characteristic of the M feeling, in a previously unequalled dimension. At the same time, both performance and efficiency have been significantly increased in comparison to the previous engine. Numerous drivetrain innovations and other enhancements have lead to a reduction in fuel consumption and emission levels by more than 25 percent. The new engine and a seven-speed M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic and M-specific suspension and steering create the ideal prerequisites for an unrivalled driving experience.
